Meet our Körblträger! 🌲
Krampus Verein Pinellas is proud to introduce Eugene as our Körblträger, the basket carrier of Krampus lore. A longtime member of the German-American Society and KVP, Eugene and his wife Renee are among the driving forces behind crafting the club's custom costumes, work that brings every character in our troupe to life.
What is a Körblträger?
In Alpine Krampus tradition, the Körblträger is the basket-bearer who follows behind the Krampus troupe, carrying the woven basket (or Kraxe) traditionally used to haul off misbehaving children, or in modern tradition, bundles of birch switches (Ruten) and other tools of the trade. He's a quieter but essential figure in the procession: steady, watchful, and always close behind the chaos.
