Standing at an impressive 6'7", Michael brings a commanding, larger-than-life presence to every Krampusnacht event as our own Sankt Nikolaus. Fluent in German, he embodies the tradition with authenticity, right down to the language.<\/p>\n
Krampus and St. Nick are two halves of the same old-world tradition, a yin and yang of discipline and reward. Krampus roams to frighten and punish the mischievous, while St. Nick walks beside him rewarding the good and keeping the chaos in check. Together they represent the balance at the heart of this Alpine tradition: darkness and light, mischief and mercy, fear and reward. Without St. Nick, Krampus would run wild through the crowd. With him, order is restored, and even the rowdiest of the Krampusgruppe are reminded there's a line they can't cross.<\/p>\n
At our events, Michael takes that role seriously. He walks the Krampuslauf alongside our Krampus performers, making sure the fun stays fun and the little ones in the crowd are watched over even as Krampus prowls. It's the balance that makes Krampusnacht work: chaos tempered by grace.<\/p>\n
