If you're a new member of Krampus Verein Pinellas, this book is on our recommended reading list, and for good reason. Written by Al Ridenour, "The Krampus and the Old, Dark Christmas: Roots and Rebirth of the Folkloric Devil" is widely considered the most thorough, well-researched exploration of Krampus history and tradition available in English. Ridenour traveled to Austria and Germany, interviewing Krampus performers and mask makers firsthand to trace the character's roots from old-world folklore to the modern revival we're all part of today.<\/p>\n
