Come Craft With Us
Every other Sunday afternoon, a group of German-American Society members gathers to work on crafts — together. There’s no agenda, no project you’re required to bring, and no skill level requirement. Pull up a chair, unpack whatever you’re working on, and enjoy a few hours of creative community in good company.
We sew, knit, crochet, embroider, repair costumes, scan and archive historical photos — if it’s creative, it counts. Welton Brewing Co. & Oyster Bar is right on-site when you need a break. The only ask: bring a snack to share.

Members Only · Every Other Sunday · 1:00 – 4:00 PM
No entry fee. No materials fee. No minimum skill level. Just show up with a project (or without one) and enjoy the company. Membership in the German-American Society is required — crafting is a member perk.
What We Do
A little bit of everything — as long as it’s creative
Costumes
We make and repair costumes for the Krampus Verein and the Gulf Coast Enzianer Schuhplattler Verein — hand-stitched details, alterations, full repairs on traditional garb. There’s always something that needs a needle and thread.
Fundraising Crafts
We craft handmade items the Schuhplattlers sell at events to support the group. A great way to put your skills to work for the community while spending an afternoon making something.
Skills & Learning
Want to learn to hem? Try a new stitch? Tackle something you’ve never attempted before? This is the place. We learn from each other — experienced crafters teach, beginners absorb, everyone improves.
Your Own Project
Knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross-stitch, scanning family photos for the archive, or anything else creative — bring whatever you’re working on. If it counts as crafting to you, it counts here.
