Greetings, friends! Grüße, Freunde!
The 2024 August decision of The Board to have a “Guesthouse evening” – a Gasthaus Abend –twice a month has proven quite successful. In the past two years a monthly average of $2,500- $3,000 has been earned. As an organization we need to decide how to move forward in this upcoming third year, especially with a new kitchen manager and a new possible cook/ team in the future.
Logically our roof replacement and various fundraisers must continue to our German American Cultural Foundation. Please make out any donation according to the directions described by the foundation site on our website. You can designate which funds you wish to donate to.
Our major event this month was the 75th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, August 15. It was a great night. Previous presidents were in attendance and we had a huge turnout. The food was fantastic and The Rum Syndicate provided lively entertainment. Thank you to everyone who attended and here's to 75 more years!
The Society’s Kulturabend is scheduled for Friday, August 28 from 6-8pm in the Bierstube. It will cover the region of Oberammergau in Bavaria and specifically King Ludwig’s castles.
The Bundesliga season begins Friday, August 28, FC Bayern v. VFB Stuttgart, Kick-off at 2:30. Matches can be watched during the whole soccer season on our Bierstube big screen TVs.
